Gunma Prefectural College of Health Sciences was founded in 2006, after being reorganized from Gunma Junior College of Health Sciences, for the purpose in assisting the realization of desirable healthy life for the people in Gunma. In 2009, Graduate Schools for Master’s degree were also founded.
Our aims are to foster students which are aspired to become nurses, public health nurses, and radiological technologists as medical professionals, who can contribute to the maintenance and development of national health standards both locally and nationally.
Our University provides courses on Nursing and Radiological Technology, based on scientific evidence. The faculty and staff with practical experience and high standards of research make efforts to support students to systematically gain broad knowledge and the skills required as medical specialists, aimed at the higher education, which will enable the students to respond properly to a rapidly changing world, by adopting a Model Curriculum suited to the Next Generation.
Further, the staff supports the students to learn general subjects required to develop their ability to cooperate in a team, which is based on both theory and practice, supporting health care services, leading to societal contributions, as well as the basic subjects related to each specialization.
In addition, through general education courses, including unique and original basic academic subjects, the staff will help each individual student to plan their own study courses according to their intellectual and academic interests.
Thinking critically and judging soundly as people who learn at this University is one of the aims that we have. The students are required and encouraged to change from learners, who are taught the basic essentials given basic essentials, to specialists, who can think and judge independently. It is my sincere hope that the students may live a rich and full life and cultivate their senses during their University days in Gunma Prefecture, which is well known for its natural beauty.
